Mona,

Sally and I are touched by our compliment. Thank you!
If you snuck a hidden camera into the office, you'd see an awful lot of backing and frothing between the two of us as we develop a design.
If all that hard work and effort is genius, I"ll take it. It's a process I thoroughly love, especially when it takes on a life of it's own.

Cheers,
John

Hi Joan,

We had a great weekend especially yesterday when we drove to York Maine with our son and fiancé to look for wedding rehearsal dinner venues.
The weather and company was perfect!

Some of our ideas have been close to your thoughts.
We keep dancing around Modern Traditional - but it doesn't have quite the right ring to it.

My suggestion about drawing is to get yourself a little sketchbook, a soft pencil or two and just start doodling.
You'll notice my sketches are not perfect. Rather, they are emotional impressions of an idea.
It helps to squint at what you're drawing. You only see the important features and elements when you squint.
At this stage of development, the Gestalt is more important than a perfectly drafted sketch or drawing.

Cheers,
John

I think that the two of you together are sheer genius. I love the design...and was thinking in my own mind before I scrolled down to see the finish that I would replace the botanicals, with modern art full of color. I can't wait to see your completed design. I absolutely love your drawings.

Hi John...Hi Sally!

I wanted to let you know that I did an extra "Giveaway" on my blog - a discount coupon for Michelle's paint. And you won that! I will be emailing you the coupon this week!

I am also going to look at these sketches more carefully (all of them look great so far!)

Speak soon...

I love seeing the creative process on paper. I am always so impressed with drawn renderings, and your renderings are wonderful. That is what I see in "my head", but just can't get them to paper! I would love to be able to draw.

I would describe your work as Classic Contemporary Traditional. I think the "classic" speaks to the best of both worlds that you so eloquently add to your spaces. Beautiful, beautiful work.

wishing you both a lovely weekend!

You're a kindred spirit Linda. I'm actually a little nervous about ramping up my Pinterest account... (Our son's fiancé is going to tutor me this weekend...) I have so many of these kinds of pictures torn from magazines and in various stages of scanning. There may be a little less sleep each night for the near future...

Cheers,
John

I think the words that come to mind are thoughtful, cerebral, contemplative and yet still dramatic and of course, beautiful. This space is really going to be a knockout! I may have to make the long trek up north and venture past Boston (ee gads!) to see it in person!
